Wilder has always had a glass jaw and paper chest. Wilder has never beaten a proven world level HW so I suspect Zhang wins. Hrgovic vs Dubois - I would certainly favour Hrgovic to wins this but I wouldn't rule out a chance of a upset as Hrgovic can be complacent and leave his chin stuck out unprotected at times. I'm giving the slight edge to Bivol in the main event.
Something will kick off soon enough, most probably due to Hearn being a shithouse in some way. Warren seems to have been very fair to him Saudi wise so anything remotely snide from Matchroom and he will lose it with them.
I’m hearing from my man at the butchers that it was HEARNS JRs idea to make this all about the promoters. Warren wasn’t keen until the Saudi gangsters reminded him who is paying for all this and suddenly he was on message. certainly seems believable
Looks more like a Johnstone Pee n Paint Pot Trophy Final at Wembley Queensbury Reserves v Matchroom Reserves. Many of the top players are rested with Wilder drafted in on loan to Matchroom FC from Jamaican club Humble Lions FC
Yeah Hearns Junior wouldn't let AJ anywhere near big Papa ZHANGO so he goes and signs Wilder as a human shield for big chinny josh. Disgraceful behaviour yet again from the Essex bully.
Can only see Hearn winning 2 of these… Craig Richards & Hrgovic. Think Warren takes everything else, with his captain winning (Sheeraz) and Hearn’s captain (Wilder). The Guy Ritchie promo was ****ing class as well… with Frank going full Bricktop mode.
I was listening to the Bunce podcast (which seemed to devote half the episode to that promo!) saying how the Brick Top character's voice was based on Frank Warren, so it's come full circle And aside from that, they were predicting a 4-4 draw on the basis Frank would only win the two 'captain' fights, on the basis beating Wilder gives Zhang two points. Would you be surprised at a draw?
Wonder how the men in white would deal with it all kicking off on the night between the Queensbury and Matchroom fans.
It's great that a terrific night of boxing is on, good competitive fights, it's not good that it's in Saudi Arabia. I hope that sportswashy, money laundery, oily oily bubble bursts soon.
hope we hear refrains of “Walking in a Warren Wonderland” or “Hearn will tear you apart, again” from the ultras in their scaffolder sponsored Under Armour replica tracksuits
great card really isnt it, whats a few beheadings, suppression of womens rights and the starvation of Yemen when were getting entertainment like this!?! Seriously great card though, Main event mouthwatering can bivol keep off berterbiev especially if hes had his steddy brek? Ball and ford great clash. Be praying that we see the Daniel "shades of ali" dubois we saw against miller (though i doubt hrgovic just walks at him for ten rounds with his guard up). Ammo williams looked good for while but his head seemed to go a bit. And we dont have to wait till 5 am for main event. I do find it mad and fascinating now theyre all best mates and buying into "his excellencys" vision, i mean i get money talks, but its just pure luck that Saudis come in at this point, if they hadnt of would they of all just not fought each other cos someones only paying them 10 million rather than 30? Weird
I suspect the 'vision' is to get boxing back on the map, after years in the wilderness outside of a couple of mammoth PPV sellers, and back into the mainstream concience. Having regular mega-cards with the fights people were't seeing because of boxing politics or money (even if they're on PPV themselves) will do that. UFC manages to be the main brand of MMA purely through financial muscle, marketing its brand well and how it manages its budget amongst the fighters. If Saudi can pull some kind of grouping together with the promoters it's been using, with a budget it can justify, it'll leave the likes of Boxxer and possibly even PBC as the also-rans like MMA has PFL/Bellator. For once TV companies will be irrelevant, they'll get the fights they bid for. Given the shitty belts Saudi is putting up now, it isn't far-fetched they would have an umbrella brand across boxing soon enough.
