Second was pretty clear for the visitor, I thought. Owan's stuff was mostly caught on the forearms or elbows of Tamayo, and there were a smattering of flush counter hooks that Owan got smacked with.

 

Love hearing the Japanese commentators delightedly exclaim "BUDI!"

 

Tamayo styling on this kid. I think Owan's team is realizing they bit off a bit more than he's ready to chew here. The whole strategy appears to be "try and drill a hole through his navel with lunging powerful rights" - but Tamayo is pretty well-schooled defensively. Using footwork and his long southpaw jab from a leaned-away stance to create distance and leave Owan no choice but to attack the body, and then either blocking all of those shots downstairs or turning with them so they deflect off his thighs and hips.

 

Owan finally got himself on the board in a rough & tumble fourth. He bashed his way in close and in the wild melee almost got suplexed as his leg somehow wound up hung over Tamayo's wrist. From that point on though he kept up the aggression, with rights on the body landing behind throwaway jabs. Still good movement and countering from Tamayo, but getting hit more than in the first three.

Interesting chess match in the 5th. Tamayo deliberately trapping himself on the ropes or in the corner, baiting Owan in and sniping with crisp accurate counter right jabs - but Owan is slamming home some big shotput right hands, and then pounding on Tamayo's sides with hooks when he bends over and shrimps up.

Owan murdering the body now, and, concerningly for Tamayo, starting to land with line drive rights up top as well. Cat and mouse now with the mouse sustaining damage regularly but able to just escape the death blow each time.

Owan hunting, Tamayo zipping out right jabs on the backfoot and occasionally jumping in with a "leave me alone" left and clinching to reset.

Owan stuns him late with a triple right hand. Tamayo's glove touched canvas, should've been given a count but wasn't.

Another blown call on a knockdown when Owan belted Tamayo into the ropes with a right hand; they were clearly all that kept him up for a moment there before he bounced off to flee under continuous fire.
