MMA problems
I personally love MMA i like it better than boxing but i honestly think that they should concentrate a little more on boxing then they do. they dont throw good punches the hooks and uppercuts are loose nd the straight punches arent that straight. also they drop their hands to much and they just take punches they dont block or dodge them thatmuch. what do you think?

Re: MMA problems
I think you haven't a clue, go ahead a duck a punch in mma, you will be instantly kneed to the face and wish you just took the punch instead. Keep your hands high and get taken down like a 5 year old(ask Mercer) boxing is awesome I love it, but MMA IS NOT BOXING!

Re: MMA problems
They basicly are mediocre at everything, but I guess that if they would throw punches or block as in boxing, they would be more open to non-boxing techniques. So to a judoka their center of gravity is to high, to a taekwondo figher their kick aren't as quick as they should be and so on

Re: MMA problems
That is because it is called MIXED Martial Arts, key word being MIXED. That means ALL of the combat arts not just boxing. I don't understand what is soooooooo hard to understand that.

No one ever says that MMA's boxing is better then boxers boxing. Sprinters will ALWAYS outrun football players. Yes, you will definitely see less boxing skill in MMA than in boxing. Thats a given. But hardcore boxing fans always tend to overlook the fact that there is kicking, takedowns, and many other factors that play into a roll of stand up technique. And it may appear to them a lot worse than it is. |

Re: MMA problems
2 many people jump to the conclusion i dont like MMA. i LOVE mma more than boxing, but i was just wondering if their was a reason to why there punches arent that good. and why they dont use a few boxing maneuvers im not saying that they shhould only use slips and stuff. but i rarely see someone dodge a punch

Re: MMA problems
Yes, most MMA fighters would improve by improving their boxing, no doubt about that. Mostly its due to them dedicating more time to other areas of the game they feel are more important.
