Tommy's chin would wilt. G-man KO 4.

The closest we got to this match-up:

Can't see Tommy's chin holding up against the always-dangerous McClellan, who I might add is P4P one of the hardest hitters of the last 20 years...

McClellan is also proven against monster punchers - Jackson and Benn (I know he lost against Benn but IMO that fight showed that he can indeed stand up to big punchers). I can't see him being to fazed by the power of Hearns, unless of course Hearns lands a massive bomb, ala Duran, which I can't see happening.

G-Man KO6 Hitman

Their not even on the same class .

The "Gman" won a vacant title and had two significant wins on guys with hand picked tomatoes on their records. Julian jackson(?) John Mugabi(?)
and the rest were top line bums. Hearns had few of those but his 8 fight winning streak before Marvin Hagler out weighs any thing McClellan has done.

McClellan was to aggressive for his own good, i can see Hearns using his ring movement to tire McClellan and catch him with the straight right from the ropes.

he doesn't have the dynamite to put Hearns away. :blurp

I disagree to be honest. On his day, I think McClellan had the firepower and arsenal to put ANYONE away in or around his weight class.

I also can't see Hearns KO'ing McClellan either, outside of an amazingly well-timed and powerful right hand to the unsuspecting chin of the G-Man.

McClellan stops hearns.
just so simple.
easy question , albeit somewhat harder than Tua vs. Louis and definitely harder than Vitali Klitschko vs. Louis

Yeah really. McClellan was one of the biggest punching middleweights ever. He would have a chance against anyone. I would love to get Emanuel Stewards take on this fight, but Im sure he would go with Hearns. I would say Hearns could outbox him but Gerald could catch him and ko him. Hearns would fight back and Gerald would bring it, tough pick for me.

g is MUCH bigger. hearns is a tall lanky guy but McClellan was a boiled down cruiser. he is the bigger man. i cant see him getting outmuscled or on th eend of a jab becuase hearns even though a very VERY good fighter but against a solid puncher with a long reach and a iron chin also willing to step foreward. it would be a ticking time bomb before g man hits.

also he had a decent enough boxing abilty to not look totally at sea. if a 5'8 street fighting roldan almost got rid of hearns then somone with a bit of class ability and chin shoudl be able to catch hearns enough to get the stoppage.

weird thing is , that of all possible past fighters , hearns is the one who is being remembered as he really was here.
i can't find many more examples - maybe dempsey too , simply he is somewhat being skipped in the classic forum lately (at least) for some reason.

Do you mean he is the one most people can agree on/ isn't over or under rated or over hated?

Basically it means that most people here see Hearns the same way that he does as in that Hearns would be knocked over by any half-decent puncher.

Hearns UD, or late stoppage.

The chin issue is seriously overrated. Granted, he wasn't granite jawed, but he wasn't structured like a sandcastle either.
