Do you think Hatton Is Serious about Fighting Floyd

I mean come on guys how many times has hatton mouthed off about floyd and then fought a lesser opponent. I mean hatton admitted that he wants ANOTHER 3 tuneups at 147 before he feels comfortable fighting floyd. thats 6 fights removed from 2005 when both fighters were at their peak.

I know floyd wants the fight I just think hatton is blowing smoke as usual.

He's more serious about fighting Floyd then Floyd is about fighting anyone else.

they were already at 140 and hatton declined..why wait till floyd goes up 7 pounds and then call for a fight at 140. All smoke and mirriors, hatton is going to rehydrate 10lbs at 140 so why not fight at 147. Go read the article on the site that talks boxing, he said he wants 3 tuneups at 147.:bart

I think Hatton is very strong at 140 but if hes serious bout fighting the best the logical move is to 147....

Yes, if the money is right. Styles make fights and Hatton is the style that Void Mayweather will not do well against. Castillo kicked Void's arse in their first fight. Hatton did something Void could not do.

Re: Do you think Hatton Is Serious about Fighting Floyd

I think he didn't want Floyd earlier, due to it being a bad move from a business standpoint. Floyd obviously stands a really good chance of making him look bad. He's made tons of other fighters look horrible.

If Hatton had fought him right after Tszyu and lost badly, it would have taken HUGE momentum out of his career. Also Floyd brings a hell of a lot more money to the table today than he did just a couple of years ago. Now Hatton has enough wins to carry on a lucrative career even IF Floyd thoroughly defeated him (I'm not saying that's a given, just very possible any time a fighter gets in the ring with Floyd). Also the risk/reward is alot better now.

Economics 1101 :)

Yes he wants Floyd. As much as I like Hatton, I don't think he has much of a shot at winning though. Unfortunately.

is this when he said he wanted to build up his name first? so that when that happens, he'll collect the biggest paycheck he can get?
