Who put on the more masterful performance: Andre Ward or Manny Pacquiao?
Well, both their opponents had their weaknesses. Both fighters are considered p4p top fighters. Both pitched shutouts..
well? |

Ward. He fought a live opponent who actually had something at stake. Pac fought an old, tired PPV minor leaguer.

If Mosley fought the way AA did then he would have gotten knocked out. Pac successfully removed the fighting spirit out of Mosley and thus offered up the better performance, imo.

Obviously Ward.
Don't use Mosley's negativity and movement as an excuse. Abraham's turtle shell and low workrate and unwillingness to engage on the inside in most rounds made him just as unwilling a target. The opponents' performances cancel each other out. Ward is in his prime; Pacquiao is well past his. Their respective performances reflected that. |

Even with a retreating unengaged opponent, Pac still managed to score a kd and landed the harder and more punishing shots than Ward did against a guy who stood in front of him for 12 rounds.
The lack of combination punching by Ward also doesn't help his cause, imv. |
