RE: Robert Helenius...
Can somebody please explain to me what the big deal is with this guy?
This isn't a criticism, but a genuine question, as there's always a new 'up-and-coming' challenger.. but generally fails to deliver.. especially over the past 5 years or so. So is this guy really the real deal? and if he isn't.. who is? |
Re: Robert Helenius...
He hasn't got the best boxing skills, but he's exciting and fun to watch. A fight with him and Fury would be fucking brilliant to watch.

Re: Robert Helenius...
he is slow, clumsy and looks out of shape. But he has KO'ed some names, so...
|
Re: Robert Helenius...
He's like a super sized Kelly Pavlik in that at first glance he doesn't look all that impressive, but he has some skill and he can crack.

Sounds like you're talking about somebody in the Golden Gloves rather than someone who has been destroying big names one after the other. |
Re: Robert Helenius...
He's one of the best finishers in the game. I'll give him that.

Fury is a chinachinned bum. I once thought he was legit, but seeing him wobbled by novices and journeymen is getting old... a top fighter with the WILL to win will KO him. As for Robbe.....absofuckinglutely the real deal. People criticize him for his slow starts, taking too many punches, and poor footwork, but what they fail to see is that since about his 8th fight, he's systematically beaten his guy down until he saw the opportunity to bust him up. Once he smells a KO it's his to be had. His slow pace works against his opponents, lulling them into a comfort zone, b/c when he decides it time to take them out, they're unprepared for the handspeed coming while he setting up his KO. |
Re: Robert Helenius...
he needs too step up in comp to see wut hes about

Yeah right, genius. Like Lyakhovich, Peter, Brewster, and Bydenko are nothing. And he was KO'ing Brewster in only his 11th pro fight! He's actually way ahead of the amazing K brothers - the two greatest heavyweights in history - at the same stage of his career. |

Knockin people out. I like him.

Re: Robert Helenius...
Three big-name KOs in a row, that's what it's about. Those guys were past it, but no slouches, and he took care of all three convincingly.
