Re: MMA turning into pro wrestling
Yes, i think some of that build up smack talking is all fake.
The fights are obviously real but all those fights at resturants and smack talking at the press conference is a load of staged crap. They do the same in boxing nowadays. |

This stuff happens in boxing all the time as well. We could sit here all day and talk about boxers who traded blows at the weigh ins. |
Re: MMA turning into pro wrestling

Re: MMA turning into pro wrestling
Anyone concerned with UFC going every month on ppv?The wwe did this and it is dying from overkill. It is no longer becoming a must see event but a continuing series. In the long run will this hurt the sport?

Whereas the WWE moved to PPV based events, the UFC's end game is to move to free television. The product is hot right now, and people will buy anything. Showing what kind of profits they can turn by pumping out the PPV's makes a strong case to premium sports channels like HBO that the UFC is something worth picking up. If they kept the current pace indefinetely they would burn out, but Zuffa has bigger plans than that. They want to be like NASCAR and have weekly events on free television. |
Re: MMA turning into pro wrestling
weekly events on free television, kind of like the IFL. Thats doing great.
MMA is already starting to show signs of oversaturation |
