Ward V Froch - The headbutts

Andre Ward follows-in almost every punch he throws from the outside with a flying headbutt!

Will he be warned and punished for this?

Personally I think Ward knows he can get away with a lot so he incorporates it in his game-plan, Froch is in for a difficult night and can only win this by TKO, KO.

No way Ward gets disqualified, not a chance.

It's highly unlikely he'll be rightfully punished if he does do it. He headbutts in a way that isn't obvious, so the referee can't be expected to take points. He is purposefully reckless though and he should be punished for fighting in such a way, but it won't happen.

Jack you are damn right he purposely does this, he throws those leaping jabs and follows right in with his head, it is blatant foul play!

He does it several times per round and it is a MAJOR part of his gameplan/style.

He's almost as good as Holyfield, another Jesus freak who mastered the art.

Its inevitable Ward will lead with his head all night without being warned.

Froch will respond with similar tactics & lose points.

I hope McCracken's got Froch working on sneaky fouls because I think the key here is getting under Ward's skin and he's never had anyone who can retaliate to his fouls in an equally effective way.
How this guy is getting talked about the way he is when he fouls so much is beyond me.
He has a bucketload of skill and ability but he's a dirty boy.

Amazing how the powers that be are ignoring Wards dirty tricks. How the fuck do the refs keep ruling an accidental clash of heads during Ward fights ?
When there are head clashe's in every fight he's involved in,it can only mean one thing.

If and when Ward leads with his head after a jab or a 1-2 in either stance (especially southpaw), it'll be part of the overall move, part of the execution. If Carl responds with an actual headbutt, it'll be as obvious as the side slam he layed on Dirrell.

If the fight ends in a DQ, Froch's got the short end of the stick. ;)

Its all part of boxing. I personally find it quite impressive how he follows through with his head after the over hand right. Not an easy skill to master.

Froch should pull out of this fight if there is (i) a Yank referee and/or (ii) more than one Yank judge.

i allready said this,Ward is gonna headbutt and Froch will retaliate.i expect a DQ win for Ward.Worst case scenario,Ward win on decision after he fault all night long with headbutts, elbows and low blows and geting away with it and Froch losing points when retaliate, maybe even loose points on "pushes" like Khan did..that was hilarious at most.God bless America !!!

 same, it is impressive but a very unsporting thing to do nonetheless

Re: Ward V Froch - The headbutts

Ward is cut from the same cloth as Mayweather and Hopkins. What I mean by that his that he has a very high awareness, and ring IQ. He knows what he's doing out there. Ward likes to get in on the inside, and he ducks his head when he punches to avoid getting countered in the jaw. It's a very smart, and crafty move. It will lead to head clashes, but it's almost impossible for a ref to call him out for headbutting. It's the same technique that Hopkins, Holyfield, and Bradley employ.

Easy answer.
How many fights has Ward had, and how many point deduction over all those fights for head butting?
If the answer is zero, I suggest you visit an eye doctor, a shrink, and if you insist of watching boxing, a boxing coach to assist you in understanding the sport. :yep
