Could an orthodox boxer fight in a style similar to Winky or pernell whitaker?Or is it not possible due to those 2 being a southpaw?

winky wright is really right handed but he fights in southpaw. so i guess the answer to your question is yes.

how do they fight? never seens any of there fights. i'm a right ahnded southpaw too so i'd like to know.

They have 2 different styles yet both are great defensive fighters. And in answer to the question of course, you can perfect any style as long as you only stick to that style and you are comfortable with it.

An orthadox fighter (right handed) can do anything a lefty can do and viceversa, everything is backwords if you mimick wright's or whitaker's style, but of course in order to mimick these 2 styles you have to have similar builds and athleticism. Winky has extra long arms and is able to keep his hands high while being able to block body shots and Whitaker was just as athletic as you can get and had great reflexes to slip punches while staying in the pocket. These 2 guys are the best in the world at this and being a defensive fighter is probably the hardest thing to do. If you are new to boxing I would recommend learn the basics, spar as much as you can and after about 5-10 thousand rounds of ringtime you could try one of these 2 styles. good luck

funny thread since im a right handed southpaw having to learn how to fight orthodox. the movement and slipping just feels awful. as a southpaw it felt more fluid and easier to dip and move. now in the ortho stance it seems robotic. but with enough shadowboxing, sparring, and work anything you can do in one stance, you deffinately can do in the other.

why do you have to learn to fight ortho if you feel comfortable southpaw you should fight that way

because the coaches at my gym said i would end up switching since my right hand is my strong hand. as well my left hand isnt built up to actually throw a power punch. this wasnt a problem when i was first going but now it is somehow. sall good tho, ima learn ortho just to round off my fight game.
