SEE how well Mayweather can take a punch

In our days we have seen fighters get there bell rung time over time again, no matter how great the defense, a punch will get through so you must prepare always to get hit because you will. that mayweather is a tough cookie, and he best his opponents with will and skill. watch the video I saw today and see if you agree. I agree he has a good chin. Very good actually.

Most people underrate his chin, saying his defense is great but if he gets tagged by a puncher he's going down. Well, if you look at the Mosley fight, he got tagged by a monster right. It was crisp, on point, and had DEFINITE pop behind it. He took it well, and kept composed.

How well May takes it in is more likely the question at present.

he's got an average chin nothing more. taking a big punch here and there isnt proof of a good chin. In fact I dont think he takes punches all that well. Mosley landed basically two flush right hands, and each one buckled Floyd. Judah had him running for cover after a straight left. Ditto for Ortiz via right hook. Corley had him on speghetti legs. Contrast this to Miguel Cotto who has a bit ofa shakey chin, and he took Mosley's best punches all night.

Floyd's chin is good enough to keep him on his feet and do what he does best that's all . It's nothing special.

who was the last fighter that Mosley hurt with one punch early in a fight? ( A part from Floyd obviously)

Co-sign it is something about 6 out of 10 but his fan boys want him to be the GOAT in every department

I disagree. The 1st hand from didn't Mosley didn't do shit. Mosley just got excited and jumped into Floyd with his whole body weight, and then started throwing him, trying to get his arm free. The 2nd right hand was a Hayemaker, and it did buckle him, but Floyd took it well beyond that, and never seem dazed.

Judah didn't hurt him either. He landed a good shot, and got all excited, and started winging wild shots that missed. If you look at the sequence again, Floyd had a look of complete calm on his face while Judah was swinging and missing, and even rolled the last shot beautifully. People are so unused to seeing Floyd get hit flush, that when it happens they overreact.

Mayweather's chin seems to be above average. He was hurt by Mosely, and also hurt by Corely when they fought as well. His chin suits his defensive style really well, the little he does get hit with he can take.

Probably best if your look up the word average. Ortiz had him running for cover?

In terms of the thread topic, Mayweather CLEARLY has an above average chin. Great? No. People focus on the shots that have troubled him, but he has taken some really good, clean shots from decent/big punchers.

8/10 chin

Recoveres very quick when he does get hurt

PAC has an amazing chin 9.5/10

I guess when these two eventually fight, they should throw punches with their chins;)

is this the video where the majority of punches it shows are grazing or jabs?

Re: SEE how well Mayweather can take a punch

I don't think he has an exceptional chin. He's been hurt off punches from Corley, Castillo, Judah and, most significantly, Mosley. Not a lot of names, no, but when you consider that the list of fighters who have managed to hit him clean is also tiny, then it says something. In the vast majority of his fights, he doesn't get hit with a single good shot. He either slips it entirely or rolls with it, taking it's effect away. Exceptional defence but he's shown that when he is hit clean, he can be hurt.
