Carl Froch's Future

Just wondering what the general opinion is on Carl's future after the fight later this month against Lucien Bute, win or lose. I've looked at a handful of fights that could be made considering that he won't be looking for any old top 10/15 fighter but only those with titles or that will get him a shot at other titles.

Rematches with Bute, Kessler, Pascal & Ward are all viable and I have listed them in what I feel is the most likely to happen.

Domestic showdowns with George Groves or James DeGale in the next 12-18 months would be huge in UK if both fighters continue to improve.

Wouldn't rule out a match up with Robert Stieglitz if Bute comes out on top either.

Nathan Cleverly and then retire.

Re: Carl Froch's Future

If he loses to Bute it depends on the nature of the loss. Getting dominated or knocked out and he should consider packing it in although he could probably still beat Stieglitz. If he's competitive he could fight Stieglitz or move up and fight Pascal or Kessler again. If he wins he'll have to rematch Bute, but after that he could fight Kessler again or Dawson at catchweights.

Completely forgot about Cleverly, quite a winnable match for Carl I'd say despite the Welshman's work rate.

Although I think it was pure column filler stuff when he said he wanted Froch, he knew full well Carl wouldn't be moving up to Light Heavy straight after the Ward loss as there's still plenty of fights at 168. Not to mention that the likes of Kessler and Pascal would be higher on Froch's agenda.

knock out Bute, hammer Kessler in the rematch, find a way to squeak past Ward, fight martinez in vegas, retire a God.

I think if the Bute fight is close then there will be a definant rematch in Canada (isnt this already agreed on the contract??) - If he loses both fights then I would just try to make a couple of money spinning fights and then retire - Maybe pascal / kessler at the Trent Arena and maybe a fight over in the states?

If he beats Bute once and loses once - Maybe a trilogy in the states??? ( I am assuming they will be good fights)

If he beats Bute both times then ......

.... I will eat my own cock - But assuming he does, then step upto light heavy and fight Bellew (who will be WBO champion ;o)

If Pascal beats Cloud then Froch should move up and take the rematch.

Froch should take the re-match? Froch won the first time round!

when degale signs for matchroom id like to see a froch vs degale clash. before that, i feel there is unfinished business with kessler.

He could fight Ward 100 times and still never win.

as an aside, I find it hard to believe tickets haven't yet sold out for the bute fight...looks like a good job they didn't go for the notts county ground. Starting to look like it isn't going to sell out now...criminal really. Time for a big promotional push Eddie?

Carl was born on July 2nd so according to Mystic Meg the solar eclipse is ready to unlock the secrets part of Carl's chart but it needs Carl's help. Let that guard down and express his feelings. Carl can see what has held him back, fix it and progress as Jupiter promises he can achieve his highest hopes and be who he wants to be. His friendship zone is switched on and a shared goal can provide more than just money. Venus is ready to make love dreams real and there’s a sudden attraction.

How many casual fans of boxing or Carl know Bute?
