McCallum vs Nunn

Not really a fan of these fantasy match-ups, but these two were both active in the same era and had several common opponents. Think it would be an intriguing fight. Not necisseraly pretty, but very interesting. What's your take? It's over 12 rounds.

McCallum, he's a master of timing and going to the body against faster boxers. He'd break Nunn down quicker and more systematically than Toney managed to do

Still, though, Nunn is very much a bigger version of Graham. And even though I think McCallum won by a wide margin points-wise, Graham did give him a tough fight.

Nunn will probably run away with the first couple of rounds. The question is if Mike will be able to close the gap over 12. Over 15 I feel confident he would, but over 12?

I think Graham was a bit more elusive.

And yes it wouldn't all be Nunn in the opening rounds, he maybe 4-2 up, then McCallum takes over and I'd fancy McCallum to pull out a late stopage ala Watson, or Nunn-Toney for that matter

Graham was a bit more elusive and probably a bit smarter as well. But Nunn was good at utliizing his size and strength. Like he did against Curry. Really thought Curry showed the better boxing in that fight, but Nunn was just too big, young and strong.

McCallum was of course stronger than Curry. He was very hard to bully around, Mike. Watson and Collins will tell you that.

McCallum was slower and had less power than Toney though.

McCallum... maybe even by late round KO. Kill the body and the head will fall

McCallum was more accurate, more active, and had the better body attack... which would slow Nunn down quicker than Toney did IMO.

That's arguable.

I think if we use McCallum-Graham fight as a barometer then it's not that hard to envision a very close competitive fight.

Eubanks said that Nunn was a taller , rangier more difficult version of Graham .
Going by Eubanks I think it is clear who wins this .

Perhaps, but it would be a very short argument!

Nunn at his best would have a good chance here.

I would say this is a pickem fight. Prime Nunn was hard to beat.
