More likely? Marquez brutally Ko'ing Khan or outbox him?

I think Marquez beats Khan but how would it go down?

Brutal KO via 5punch combo

Outboxing him and stopping him late.

JMM is a scientific fighter. Finesse. He's not one that'll swing hayemakers to viciously put Khan's lights out. He'll likely break him down systematically. Countering him to begin with, and have him running late on.

Didn't Marquez duck Khan?

Not really. He was recovering from the Mayweather defeat when Khan's lot approached him the first time. And he was gunning for the Pacquiao fight when they asked him the second time.

Khan-JMM was never a fight that was set in stone or something the fans were demanding, for JMM's rejection to be considered a "duck". It was just a "Nah, no thanks, we have other plans".

Khan has success early. Then JMM gets his timing and range and starts picking him apart (Khan still gets shots off though due to his speed and reach, just not as effective as JMM). IMO.

A couple of years ago, Marquez turned down a fight with Khan.

JMM didn't fancy it, a chance to win a 4th title at a 4th weight. And it was at the time Khan fought Paulie, about 10 months after Mayweather.

JMM chose to fight Diaz again.

Ok, I admit Nacho didn't fancy his chances at the time, but the word "duck" is thrown around all too quickly. JMM fought Diaz -- an easier opponent -- because he wanted to remain on course to land Pacquiao. We need to remember that JMM is in his late 30s and will want to aim and hold out for fights that are worthwhile. Khan just wasn't that much of a concern to him. Just like Prescott and Brook -- who've been calling Khan out and offering fights repeatedly -- aren't that much of a concern to Khan at the moment.

It was more Nacho that turned down the bout. He felt Khan's camp (not necessarily Khan) was using Marquez as a stepping stone at that stage in his career. Which they were.

Only a stepping stone if they would have beat him.

Nacho? Marquez? whoever in the Marquez camp didn't fancy Juan's chances.

Prescott and Brook didn't have a title or would have brought a bumper pay day to the table.

Nacho/Marquez also turned down a second fight with Pacquiao to face Chris John in Indonesia for $40K :patsch

Titles don't mean much to you if you're someone who has an ATG and P4P megastar in your sights.

Prescott and Brook, whilst not having titles, still would guarantee Khan as massive fight in the UK. Noone can tell me those two wouldn't help Khan sell out. But like I said, they've not done enough to deserve his attention. Just like Khan hadn't done enough, either.

Beating Pacquiao's stablemate would have made the Pacquiao fight bigger and more likely

JMM would stop Khan late in my opinion. Khan just rushes in an out and has very little defence. Just a really crap version of pacquiao. He would get countered all night. Bad choice to reject the Khan fight
