Why did Bradley duck a unification bout with Khan?
Did he see something he didn't like in Khan?
Did his speed scare him. He turned down a 50/50 against a china chin, and after Khan lost to Peterson Bradley said he would beat him easily. Even though Pederson had better durability and was significantly stronger than when Bradley disposed of him comfortably in a shut out. I never really got this one. If he beat Khan by a UD, and then went on to fight and ''beat'' Pacquiao, it would have looked a lot better. He might even have more than 10 fans now. He could have still signed with Top Rank regardless. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R5WPQ-IweIM[/ame] |
Re: Why did Bradley duck a unification bout with Khan?
First of all, during the major craving of a Bradley vs. Khan fight, Bradley had big promotional issues.
He didn't fight Khan for the 1.4 million offer in hopes of signing with a promoter and being positioned to make much more against Mayweather or Pacquiao. He signed with Top Rank, got something like 700k (half of the money he'd have earned for the Khan "super" fight) for the easy cupcake Casamayor fight. Then, he earned 5+ million for the Pacquiao fight. In terms of his professional earning career, he looks like a freaking genius and anyone who said or still says different is flat wrong. |
Re: Why did Bradley duck a unification bout with Khan?
Because he was being lined up to face pacquiao. Would you fight amid khan and risk losing and get paid max one million dollars or wait 6 months see out a bad contract and then get 5 million, maximum career exposure and a chance to jump to a new league in boxing

Re: Why did Bradley duck a unification bout with Khan?
In his shoes i would have fought Khan and Pacquiao. Why make an excuse? He still has no fans. It's a shame legacy is fairly meaningless to a lot of modern day boxers.

Re: Why did Bradley duck a unification bout with Khan?
Because he was scared of losing and missing out on the PAC Sweepstakes

I thought he avoided Khan, but he did go on to fight Pac and win.
I'd love to see Bradley take Khan's fucking head off. |
Re: Why did Bradley duck a unification bout with Khan?
I dont see Bradley beating him if Khan fights smart. Im no Khan fan but i see easy rounds won against Bradley, if he fights smart.

Would you rather, for legacy purposes, fight someone not close to the "almighty P4P top 10 list" or gun for one of the two biggest stars of the era? Apparently, some people are actually saying it would be smarter to fight the boxer of significantly lesser skill, ranking, and career accomplishment. |
Re: Why did Bradley duck a unification bout with Khan?
It was clearly a financial decison and to be honest it looks like he made the right move. Khan may well have beaten Bradley.

Khan would get knocked out or outboxed by Bradley. |

there is a reason bradley has no fans, thats because he ducked a more lucrative fight with the top guy in his division, both had 2 of the big 4 belts each, bradley is feather fisted, humble (means he is boring as fuck, my nan brings more excitment to pressers/interviews) he cant even get kell brooke to fight him lmao. no fighter should ever get a pass from ducking a tougher fighter no matter what. |

Did I say I thought Bradley beat him? No. Do the record books show Bradley won? Yes. |
