...would you sanction a fight for the WBC Heavyweight Title between Audley Harrison and Vitali Klitschko?

In my opinion this is the last remaining fight in boxing. However, the loser would be going home on a stretcher.

It's a pointless fight. If Aud was scared of the smaller (albeit faster) Haye, what will he be like in a similar sized, infinitely nastier monster like Vitali?

Fair point. I think you hit the nail on the head when you pointed out that Haye is faster.

Speed kills. That's why Vitali doesn't want to fight Haye at his age.

Vitali and Audley are physically well matched. They are well matched age wise. Vitali is a proven warrior in the ring. Audley is a proven warrior in his life.

N.B. Audley Harrison lost to Haye by TKO not KO. He complained that the stoppage was premature. It wasn't.

Audley is proven in the ring too, he just proved something very different to Vitali.

There's no way Audley will be brave against a Klitschko when he won't be brave against Martin Rogan, FFS! Better fighters than Audley have made no impact on Vitali (Arreola, Adamek, even Chisora), and Audley looks more shot than the Ukranian.

dft: Can't argue with anything you say. I think Audley might be the boxing equivalent of a "big game player." When the stage is set, and the world is watching, he gives it everything. The stars just haven't aligned for him in professional boxing. He can't motivate himself to fight guys like Rogan.

Yet, in his biggest fight he did literally nothing for as long as it lasted. Are you saying that he needs to be facing the equivalent of a near-shot, under prepared Danny Williams before giving us a demonstration of what he's capable of?

I'm don't think the stars didn't align, I just don't think he's cut out for world level boxing. Nothing wrong with that, he's done well for himself.
