Carmen Basilio, former World Welterweight & Middleweight champion passed away at Rochester, New York, aged 85.

Saddened to hear the news about a childhood favourite passing away. No doubt many on here wouldn't be overly familiar with the Upstate Onion Farmer, but he was as tough as they come. His fights were brutal affairs. I've got a few of his photographs signed, which will be hanging on the walls for years to come. RIP champion.

Don't know why I always thought he was a potato farmer. Rip Carmen Basilio.

Got a heap of old Basilio fights, one tough bloke and apparently was a real character in his later life. RIP.
