British Trainers, how do they compare
To American Trainers?
To me, they often seem to be lacking that little extra that many American Trainers have. Guys like Naseem Hamed for example, had he been with Steward from an early age, would have been more successful imo. British trainers seem to gloss over their fighters flaws, and as a result when they step up they often get exposed, because the Americans take one look at them, identify the flaws and exploit the hell out of it. Thoughts? |

You thinking of moving over to the wild card gym?...good move IMO...stay over there as long as possible!...don't feel that you have to come back.

I can see where your coming from Dai. Personally i tend to agree to a point i think there exposed to a higher level of work constantly. The quality of sparring is better and easier for them over there to develop fighters as well as fact some of these guys have been lucky enough to share numerous conversations or even time in the gym with such legendary trainers.
Also the fact they have a large talent pool including foreign fighters does help them look good as well . But our guys have there own way and there good and mostly young trainers themselves. There developing on the job with there fighters. |

Robert McCracken is a brilliant trainer, probably the best in the country for me

I think Gary Lockett has the potential to be a great trainer.

Nas is a bad example. He tidied up a bit after joining Steward but his best work came under Ingle.
