Is Froch-Cleverly really that bad of a fight to make ?

Personally i think Cleverly would hold his own and make it very competitive. Good handspeed, volume puncher, great stamina. Bute really doesn't want it again, Ward beats Froch everytime, makes no difference where it is. Unless its Kessler, then give Cleverly a chance. No interest in seeing Froch defend against Stevenson and the like.

I'd much rather see this than a Mack/Adonis/Bute fight in all honesty. Sure Froch'd be odds on but NC has a good chin, probably stronger and good workrate. I don't think it'd be easy for Froch just look what Glen Johnson did...

Agree.

Froch would completely dominate Clev, he'll mix it up..out boxing and grinding him down to a mid-late rounds stoppage.

it would probably be harder than id like to imagine, but i think cleverlys lack of defence would catch up with him later on, and clev should come down to smw if he wants it

Froch struggles wih high workrate fighters. See pascal.

I tend to agree, its a big domestic fight.

Way better than a fight with Mack, easier to sell than a fight with Stevenson and who knows if Bute wants the rematch.

Can't see it happening though because of the whole tv station debacle.

Not so sure. He has never spoken with real confidence about going to LHW to fight anyone really. He is a fella who comes in to fights in great shape, and he knows his body, what it can do and how far he can push it. Going up to LHW for the first time to fight basically a career LHW in Cleverly would even the playing field somewhat. He wont be able to bully him. Clevery's manic workrate would cause him problems and it would be a much better fight than Mack was or Stevenson would be.

Considering Pascal is better then Cleverly...Froch won that fight comfortably.

Also, Pascal doesn't have a high workrate.

Wouldn't be the worst fight in the world. But I think Froch would comfortably win it

Your forgetting one thing mate..Cleverly's defense is awful, he can't box for shit at world level, Bellew completely outboxed him until he gassed.

Froch won't make the same mistake, he is more durable, skilled, punches harder, has the better chin, far more experienced, Cleverly has no chance IMO.

Won't happen I don't reckon. Despite what he says, FW won't really want this fight because he knows Froch would wipe his arse with Cleverly. Froch and Hearn probably wouldn't even consider it anyway because Cleverly isn't that appealing an opponent for him (compared to Kessler and Ward anyway).

FW can bang on all he likes, it's clear as day that this supposed "offer" he made to Matchroom for the fight wasn't a real offer at all. It was just a stunt designed to get some Nathan some attention because nobody cares about him.

So Pascal has a high workrate now?

FFS :patsch

I reckon its Eddie who wants none of this, styles all wrong for froch and a bit of a high risk low reward situation - 100 punches a round solid chin and clev is still improving not easy for anyone.

Cleverly should move down though if its to happen, his title at light heavy means dick all and who really gives a fuck about titles in different weights.

So you're saying Cleverly could mix it up with Froch based on what? Because it cannot be his level of opposition that's for sure...
