The HBO staff seems to spend more time disagreeing and arguining with eachother than calling the fight.

Merchant "this fight sucks why they got all that faggy pink on"

Showtime is excellent though. Ian Darke isnt bad either.

Do ANY of the on-air guys add to your enjoyment of the event, MN?

Dodger baseball fans would sorely miss Vin Scully. He's over 80 'n been with the team for 40 years+.

I actually enjoy most of them. Don't understand why people gripe about Merchant, Lampley, etc. Granted, none of them are perfect. The worst crime is to be boring, to add nothing to the telecast. That's why I find Lennox Lewis to be among the worst at commentary. The guy just has nothing to say most of the time. At least with Merchant you can laugh as he's reaching with some ridiculous quip, or at Lampley's overzealous nature. The Colonel Bob Sheridan is a riot. Roy Jones is very good. Teddy Atlas can be terrible as well as awesome.

Lampley used to be able to make a great fight epic with his blow by blow commentating. Now he's just embarrassing. The mma guy that calls showtimes fights has taken the crown now. He really captures the excitement of the fight the way Lampley use too.

Al Bernstein is great also.

Teddy Atlas needs to get the fuck off tv he's just as bad as Larry Holmes.

Spanish HBO analysts have to be the most clueless, ignorant and boring ( yep, even more boring than Showtime) of them all!! Their knowledge to the sport is very limited imo, and most of the time they r biased....curiously 99% of the time towards the mexican guy! I actually think they r more of a horsetrack racing or cricket kind of analysts, if not Univision's MQB (spanish version of Dancing w the Stars)!

Dislike Lampley's cheerleading

Dont like Rafael calling every fight a highway robbery (hate the phrase) and his lack of consistency

Dont mind Kellerman, sure he gets carried away but he loves the sport, he actually knows about the non HBO guys which i like

I actually like Merchant just his delivery is too slow now

its good for roy jones jr to always be there. he is the only one that knows whats hes talking about and whats going on the ring. guys like larry say shit like how come know one is throwing more then 2 punches around or whats up with the pink. them you have jim always calling shots that dont land and shit like that. roy is the best up there calling fight and the only one anyone should listen
to.

Harrold Ledermans scorecards and general perception of a fight....

Everything he says i seem to disagree with. As well as his annoying voice. And his scorecards? Dont get me started. Sometimes its like he is watching a different fight. Either that or smoking crack. Oh and.....

Larry Mechant in general

I dont hate the guy or anything, but come on. Hes too old to hold a decent interview. He mumbles, doesnt make sense, and allows his bias to come over in his interviews, which IMO is a big no no.

And generally I also get fed up with Analysts that keep telling me stuff that i already know, and quite frankly anyone with a brain and eyes can see. This is why i think i like Roy Jones so much. He gives his opinion on what he thinks a fighter is going through and his possible thought process. Things that to me, not being a fighter wont have incite into.

As i said before I also hate clear Bias. Even if i hate a fighter i can see still see him for him, and not let my hatred cloud my vision. I feel some analysts, who have the honour of commentating cant even hide their dislike for certain fighters. Again an example if Larry Merchant interviewing Floyd. Hes so negative about everything.

Just my thoughts.
