Ricky Burns vs 140

How would Ricky fare vs the likes of Khan, Matthyse, Rios, Garcia, and Peterson?

Let's answer this after he's dealt with the SFW he is fighting next...

Hard to tell, it isn't inconceivable that he could pick up a title, but I do have a hard time seeing him beat the guys mentioned.

He normally looks huge, I don't know how he'd look stacked up next to the likes of Khan, Peterson.

Khan and Peterson would win a decision the rest would murderously **** him.

If Adrian Broner moves up, not too well.

Interesting, given you've never seen him fight at 140,never seen him stopped and I suspect you probably never saw his losses.
Let's see how he does if he fights a top guy at 135 before judging how terrible he'll be at 140.
Mind you,the thread was started purely to have a go at him,so why don't we consider how he 'd do against Ward and Froch while we're at it.

I think Burns could beat Khan, Rios and potentially Peterson.

He'd do alright against Garcia for a spell but would lose, Matthysse would execute him.

Think about it Earl, one is a technically sound fighter and good under pressure the other is as flawed as they come and only weapon is speed.

Kotelnik was a lot better than Burns imo, a solid 140lb champion, good technician, a green Khan done him easy.

Speed might be his "only" weapon, but against jack of all trades, slight fighter like Burns it'll be more than enough.

I like Burns more though

Peterson and Khan I agree with, he'd definitely have a chance vs the two of them. Rios I'm not so sure about but I'd like to see it.
