Not sure how anyone could dislike Cotto...
Could someone give me a bucket list of reasons you don't like Cotto?

Re: Not sure how anyone could dislike Cotto...
luv him as a fighter. no ho--. but his arrogance has increased. always refers himself in 3rd person. and when asked who he prefers to fight pac or floyd, he said whoever pays me more money

Re: Not sure how anyone could dislike Cotto...
Not many people do, to be fair. We'll have a pretty short bucket list. He may be disliked by a minority of Mexicans and Margarito fans - especially those who disliked his accusations in the lead-up to Marg II. But that's about it. Oh, and I remember him being shitted on by Mayweather fans when he was being touted as a challenge to him back in 08.

Them low blows against Judah when he was out on his feet! That and quitting under the slightest bit of pressure. Very dirty and classless entity.

Re: Not sure how anyone could dislike Cotto...
I  everytime I see him say him say he'll only fight Pac at 154 and for Pac to stop draining him.

Re: Not sure how anyone could dislike Cotto...
I don't dislike Cotto but I admit at one point I was hoping to see him knocked down a peg or two mainly because of my heated Mayweather versus Cotto debates with his fans back when he beat Mosley.

Re: Not sure how anyone could dislike Cotto...
I think it's good cos he's come at a point in his career that he can actually refuse fights based on the stipulations and purse the opposing side offer him. The only thing I find fishy is him kissing his bff on the lips.

Cotto is one of the best fighters of this generation, a first ballot HOF'er and only a moron would hate on him. Dude is legit.

Re: Not sure how anyone could dislike Cotto...
he wasnt loved in PR to begin with but right now the hate is on an all time high,
reason is that the fight will be shown in the states for free but cotto and his promotion company decided to make it a PPV fight in the island and according to showtime it was solely a miguel cotto decision to go that route he's never been the most humble guy to begin with and this will not help him either... people see him as a guy that only cares about money :hat |

Having said that, I think his fans, at times, tend to escalate Cotto, the FIGHTER, to heights that his resume and skill set doesn't always match. And that, at times, can be annoying. He's probably a victim of what people had projected on him (a new age, lower weight Rocky Marciano whose relentless pressure, left hook, and body attack would kill destroy everyone from 140-147, especially the much hated PBF) versus what he actually was (a very, very good fighter with a diverse skill set with potential chin and stamina issues). |
