IMO, the following may not be considered at the top, but are good at it:- Chris McCullen (Brisbane) Stephen Ng (Gold Coast - [Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...] )

A friend of a friend, are they really keen to start training or just asking for the heck of it?

Depends if they are looking for an amateur or professional coach. IMO the best trainers in Brisbane are currently training am's.

The Boxing Shop in Mt Gravatt - Gareth Williams is an option.

if you expand your search 100km from brisbane youd say;

1* thornberry, by daylight. trained 2 fighters to become world champs. and numerous to title shots. trained many fighters to national and state titles. however, he lives out at gatton, about an hours drive from bris. he doesnt go looking for them. they find him.

2* steve deller
