Pavlik hasn't done much at SMW!

A clear loss to Hopkins at 170 Lbs and a few wins over some unknown guys at 168 Lbs isn't much. In the mean time he also clearly lost to Martinez at 160 Lbs.

I doubt he'll do much vs. Ward.

He's just a name to be plastered on Wards resume.

Thats all it is, really...

Kelly Pavlik is basically the MW Gerry Cooney! Racked up some impressive wins. Good fighter with a big punch but ultimately a flawed individual. Shame really as i was high on Pavlik back in the day....

Look's awful now:

If pavliks that bad Martinez wouldn't have said he was his toughest opponent He's ever faced

Martinez is a natural junior middleweight.

Apparently losing to 2 hall of famers, one of whom was fighting 2 divisions above him, anf fighting the other guy to a hard fought decision equates to being "washed up"

No but being an alcoholic for two years does.

There is no coming back from that at an elite level

Chavez was an alcoholic/drug addict for a large part of his career.

Tyson was doing coke during his "prime".

Im more interested in what they do in the ring.

Some of the greatest athletes of all time have had drink problems.

Just ask this guy. [ame]http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Josh_Hamilton[/ame]

And according to many Pavlik no longer has the same issues with alcohol.

...that being said, i think Ward wins a wide decision.

Then again, I think Ward destroys everyone in the division.

He pretty much already has.

I never knew that there was the slightest consideration that he had done anything at SMW.

He's a name opponent at 168 and nothing more. Not one win of any consequence.

I never got this logic.

When Ward goes up in his first fight at LHW and fights for a title will that mean, that if say..Cloud beats him, that it will be a fight of no consequence because Ward has "done nothing" at LHW?

You cant just ignore the career a guy had 7-8 lbs south of where hes fighting. It happens here all the time and its just stupid.

If you're an undisputed champ at a division and you go up.you're career doesnt just start over!

Marcio Rubio is rated quite highly by many sanctioning bodies and Pavlik hammered him back at 160, does that no longer count?
