If there were still 15 rounds

Who would this help and who would this hurt given the current boxers out there?

Chavez and Martinez could have ended differently.

And if Pac vs. Margarito had been 12 rounds someone may have stopped the fight earlier (10th round maybe) instead of letting Margarito finish the fight with dignity(?). Might have saved or helped him with his current eye/career problems.

Breaking news ... Jermain Taylor wants championship fights to be reduced to 10 rounds.

Re: If there were still 15 rounds

i dont know if it would help anybody

current fighters are trained for 12 rounds

some guys at the end of some fights look fresher but does that mean they are 15 round fighters?

it will force everyone to adjust

those who are in great condition anyway like a Floyd Mayweather or Tim Bradley or even like a Chavez Jr type or a Froch may not need as much ad******g

at first it would probably result in more KO's

or a reverse affect fights become more boring since they will wanna pace themselves more

Re: If there were still 15 rounds

Fighters would pace themselves differently knowing it was 15 rounds.

Still, if a guy trains extremely hard, doesn't fight at a fast pace for a 12 round bout, and gets tired toward the end, logic tells you he'd have problems in a 15 round bout.

If boxing still had 15 round championship fights. Boxers would train to go 15 rounds rather than 12. I think that Mayweather and Pacquiao would have no problems going 15 as it is right now.

Cotto would suffer from a 15 round fight.

One thing you must remember is that 10 round fights are fought diffrently than 12 rounders and same thing would apply to 15 rounders.

I think 6 rounds would be great, fast action ans a lot of knock outs.

15 rounders were highly overrated, the action was packed in the first 4 rounds
and if nothing happened then the next 10 rounds were total snooooozers
finally they were trying to do something in 15th if they had any stamina left.

This is not true. I grew up in the era of 15 rounders, and let me tell you, some of the most exciting finishes came in the now-obliterated CHAMPIONSHIP rounds. They were called this because they were the rounds the separated the "champ" from the "chumps,"

It is a TRAGEDY that television stole the championship rounds from us all those years ago. All to fit boxing into their hour-long time slots. They should be brought back ASAP.
