Its funny, I've always hated Cortez with a passion, this being one of the many reasons. And after watching the epic Marquez/Pac 4 fight, I thought to myself... Would we have got to see this quadrilogy if Cortez had stopped the first fight in the first round without giving Marquez a chance?

But then I remember its fucking Cortez and I realize he just wasn't being himself that night, thankfully.

if cortez didn't keep unnecessarily breaking them Khan would have been stopped.

Maidana would certainly have stopped Khan imo, for some reason Cortez saw fit to jump break them apart when Khan was wild-eyed, fleeing for his life and taking punches.

I scored it to Khan by 1 point.

So on my card, the point deduction "robbed" Maidana from a draw.

This bullshit again. If I remember the scorecards correctly, Khan still would have won on points even if the point-deduction never happened. And it's a myth that Cortez was helping Khan, because Khan was actually better off with Cortez not jumping in. When they were tangled and spoiling, Maidana couldn't get his shots off that well. Cortez would put Khan back into firing range everytime he jumped in and seperated them.

Cortez single handedly ruined that fight for Maidana. Khan TURNED HIS BACK on Maidana twice during the onslaught and Cortez broke them every time Khan was too close to getting KTFO seriously Cortez is one of the worst refs at least in the last decade

Khan won that fight quite comfortably.

At the very best you could give maidana 5 rounds and if you equalise khans KD with maidanas 10th round brutality, khans the clear winner... point deduction or not
