Do you prefer to watch fighters your own size?
I'll watch every interesting fight that isn't below 122, but fighters who are closer to my size give me more of a default enjoyment. Most of my favorite fights are not at my size, but I still have more interest in seeing two no names fight if they are similar to me in stature.
How do you feel about this, ESB? |

Re: Do you prefer to watch fighters your own size?
Not a massive fan of watching fighters considerably weaker than I compared to the heavier weight classes. Don't get me wrong I'll still watch most of the big figths between the tiny blighters but they just don't have the same intrigue to me as the Worlds best boxers taking part in the unlimited weight division where we can see who genuinely is the best in the World at the sport. I suppose as a kid it captures you somewhat. Seeing the Worlds most powerful gladiators going at it until there can be only one. It's something you then dreamed of and aspired to be. On the other hand I never dreamed of becoming the Worlds greatest welterweight. Why would I, who would?

Yeah, screw them filthy hobbitses! :bart

I am a tall guy myself, but I prefer to watch the fights where the greatest display of skill and boxing arsenal is possible Heavyweights dont really offer that for me, the large majority of the crop seem to lack conditioning to one degree or another - their size means they rarely throw punches in great volume, or with great speed, and generally fight at a much less intense pace than at lower weights, and can generally get by on their size more than you can in any other weight I think bamtamweight to Super-middle are the most interesting weights for me personally, fighters are of a size that they have a good enough mix of speed, agility, conditioning and output, with a good amount of power and are all 'normal' sized people (well from LWW anyway) - I know most people can find it odd watching strawweights |
Re: Do you prefer to watch fighters your own size?
I am a 'light heavyweight'.
I'm only really interested in Bantamweight and above, but am interested in the top guys of the flyweight too. I have relatively EXTREMELY little interest in light heavy and especially cruiser/heavy. |
Re: Do you prefer to watch fighters your own size?
Hmm. I am not much of a fan of the divisions below MW actually.. But I still watch the big fights of course..
However I enjoy watching the middleweight/super middleweight divisions as much as I like the Cruiser/Heavyweight. I don't know, but yes I do find the heavier divisions more fun to watch.. |
Re: Do you prefer to watch fighters your own size?
Everything from Light Middleweight to Heavy Weight.

Re: Do you prefer to watch fighters your own size?
I enjoy watching welters and light welters. whether its because they're hottest divisons right now or they're my size i dont know
|
Re: Do you prefer to watch fighters your own size?
I'm a welterweight, but at the moment, anything from 140-168 I prefer, but the bantams and around is decent too.

Re: Do you prefer to watch fighters your own size?
No, but I don't prefer watching fighters who are fatter than me. -))
