Re: Classic posters was Freddie mills a killer
You've been reading the same book as me haven't you?

Re: Classic posters was Freddie mills a killer
Oh right - I been reading a book called 'Fighters' about the deaths of Randy Turpin and Freddie Mills - there's an interesting chapter in it about the theory - but there's also numerous theories - do you know about the intricacies of the way he was found? I think he was murdered personally - probably shouldn't bandy any names about - not sure about the rules about that sort of thing on the forum but it is pretty obvious that he didn't kill himself

Re: Classic posters was Freddie mills a killer
No I don't know how he was found or any details , just that he was supposed to be a suspect and when he died the murders ceased
|
Re: Classic posters was Freddie mills a killer
Wasn't it already confirmed by the police that he wasn't a suspect in the murders?

Re: Classic posters was Freddie mills a killer
Funny thing is apparently my grandfather actually made Freddie's gravestone. He is buried in Camberwell new cemetery in south london. It might be bullshit though, i never saw much of him.

Re: Classic posters was Freddie mills a killer
I've heard some of these stories before, loads of deifferent rumours have been whispered over the years.
One thing I do know, my mother worked with a lady who was close friends with Freddie and his family; they were all convinced that there was NO WAY Freddie would have killed himself... |
Re: Classic posters was Freddie mills a killer
He was basically found in the back seat of his car sitting bolt upright with his hands flat on his knees and perched neatly against the seat just to his side (if you can imagine lent against the seat) was a rifle - the car door was locked and when concerned people finally got the door open and rocked him his eyelids flicked open and it was then that it was discovered he had been shot directly through one of his eye balls!! No damage to the eyelid just shot perfectly in the eye and then he falls back into a perfect seated position hands on knees looking for all the world like he's sitting there meditating? And the rifle falls and perches perfectly up against the seat as though he's carefully lent it against the seat?? Discounting the fact that he would've needed incredibly long arms to point the rifle barrel end to face while reaching to trigger at the back end arms outreached and then the poise to pull the trigger without blinking or at least closing the eye slightly at the moment of squeezing the trigger?? And how many suicides have you heard where someone shoots themselves directly in the eyeball staring down the barrel (with the most awkward gun in the world physically to carry out the procedure??)?

Jesus, I don't think we will ever really know the truth it seems to be a case of the more you know the more the plot thickens

Re: Classic posters was Freddie mills a killer
Since the evidence is pretty much non existent, I do not consider the speculation to be appropriate or desirable.
Freddie Mills was many things and not all of them good, but he does not deserve to be labelled as a serial killer. |
Re: Classic posters was Freddie mills a killer
before i got into boxing it was widely regarded pub-talk facts that he was either gay, murderer or both. the same pub-talk facts that come from the aether of the Ali changing gloves against cooper controversy.
i think it was just coincidence that he died around the relative time they ended. we could say the same for Harry Hylton-Foster who was an mp who might of been convinced to of killed off a few of the profurmo affairs hang arounds and died around the same time. he had a business that was being undercut by other clubs and exploited by gangsters who he was asking for help.he was going broke had debters. the game was up and it was any time it would happen. whether he was murdered or committed suicide is just the full stop, not the real story. |
Re: Classic posters was Freddie mills a killer
Mills was leaking info to the Soviets.
