Dan Rafael is saying Russell will take on Gusevin on the undercard of DeLeon-Velez on Showtime March 2.

I'm really hoping Mr. Russell improves his caliber of opposition soon. (after this)

Never heard of Gusevin but I see he lost to JC Burgos a couple years ago and to Rahimov a few years before that but outside of that I don't think I recognize anyone on his record.

I don't know anything about Gusevin but I'm skeptical he poses any sort of threat to Russell. Totally agree that he really needs to takes some sort of step up soon.

Same here.

Losing to MiniBurgos & Ali doesn't necessarily make you bad, but I figure if this Russian was decent enough to be any sort of threat to Gary we probably would've at least heard of him ten years deep into his career.

For a guy as highly rated as Russell he really needs to fight someone with a pulse.

It makes me think the rumors of his brittle hands are what is keeping him from facing a tough journeyman.
