watched it today for the 1st time in ages. what a great fight between 2 great fighters but just wondered was it ever established what was in the water bottle,"the one i mixed" to quote panama lewis. was anything untoward discovered and was pryor regarded as a cheat?

It was never established.

What has been established however, is that Panama Lewis is scum, and a waste of human life.

Some kind of stimulant, seeing how Pryor came out after how the fight was going before the bottle came into play.

Pryor came out like that in every fight he ever had in his prime.

Not that late in a fight after the things Arguello hit him with.

The tide was clearly changing up until the bottle being taken out.

Great fight, i'm actually going to watch it again soon, lolz! but yes it must have been some sort of stimulant. Both men looked, and probably were gased by that point, and Arguello had been giving Pryor a good beating the last few rounds. Suddenly Pryor just gets all this energy from out of nowhere and KO's Arguello. Seems pretty suspicious to me.

Also, not saying that Pryor couldn't have beat him without the 'secret bottle'. He did make quicker work of Arguello in the rematch, but it's still really strange to me. No fault of Pryor's at any rate, it's Panama Lewis who caused the whole controversy anyway.

The weight helped Pryor more than anything else. The fact is Alexis right hand did not have the power at 140 as it would have at 130 and 135.
