It becomes a factor and its also proof there is such a thing as metabolism.
At most you're probably talking a difference of a hundred or so calories a day. In the grand sceme of things that is insignificant.
When you look at all the factors that can affect your weight, water retention, waste, food in stomach, clothes etc etc and look at actual weight loss i.e. muscle wastage/fat loss, the difference would be very small. I can guarantee most differences come down to water retention.
