Chavez is Mexican, as is Canelo. . . They don't seem to be as concerned about "race," as they do nationality. . .

Latinos (mexicans, cubans, etc.) run the gamut from midnight black, to soapy white. . .

Chavez is definitely on the soapy white end of the spectrum, along with Canelo. .

But as long as htey are classified as Mexicans, I don't think they care if you called them white.

I will say tehre is racism just the same in Cuba, Mexico, etc. . . It's not overt or anything. . . But if you look at socioecnomic status, there is a undeniable correlation between "whiteness" and "wealth/power"
