That's the problem Whipsy. 'More Irish than the Irish' its the phrase coined for how people looking to forge a cultural identity away from the mother country, take it that extra step when living as an expat community. These first generation Aussies are looking to belong to a culture they are now somewhat distanced from and are prime targets to take up this fanatical behavior. Monkey see monkey do. They dont feel Australian or Middle eastern or wherever their from. So they further alienate themselves with this pack mentality.
