Re: Valuev vs "The Legends"
I think to beat Valuev you need size and punching power more than either boxing skill or speed. Louis, Liston, Foreman, Frazier, Lewis, and Tyson probably all have the strength to really hurt Valuev in a way that Ali, Patterson, Marciano, and Holmes don't. Marciano while known as a great puncher was still a cruiserweight who beat up on old light heavyweights. In all likelihood he doesn't have more power than Ali who was 215 with average power. Ali has the speed and durability to win on points, but not enough to knock Valuev down or out. Same goes for Holmes. Patterson would just get knocked out. He's about Marciano's size but doesn't have his punch or chin.
Also, both Klitschkos would smoke him. A young Evander Holyfield outpoints him. Riddick Bowe was big and strong enough. James Jeffries was as big as the Klitschkos and Max Baer hit ridiculously hard while being about the size of Ali. Earnie Shavers, Ike Ibeabuchi, David Tua, Andrew Golota, Tim Witherspoon, Michael Grant, and Frank Bruno also could have done well against Valuev, so you don't necessarily need an all time great. If David Haye and Ruslan Chagaev could get the job done then those men could have too and probably better.
