Young had a good chin considering the quality of the fighters he fought. Conditioning and taking fights on a few days notice due to some of the worst matchmaking in recent boxing history was his problem.

He took Earnie Shavers the distance in one of their bouts, took ****ey's power before being stopped on cuts, sparred hundreds of rounds with Frazier, bounced Tyson around in sparring also, wasn't hurt in beating Lyle, Goerge Foreman etc...
