how can your opponent hit you with the right when you shoot your left hook over his right arm.

You have to time your opponent's right hand and as it is coming to you. You shoot your left hook over his arm serve two things.

1) you redirect his punch down and away from your chin and he is out of position. Make sure you practice ur form as u throw ur left hook with ur right hand on ur chin to avoid being countered urself.

2) You can take a step back or slip to make the right adjustment. Be aware of ur distance and counter accordingly.

It will not be easy and don't expect to counter his right everytime. Watch for ur opponents patterns.
