He's a Great British fighter IMO, He's not a ATG in global boxing terms but if we broke things down to the modern era say the past decade you'd look and say he's one of the best of this decade based on competition and wins at world class level. That's due to his peers shamelessly wanting to have ''keep busy'' bouts against lesser knowns on a regular basis. But he's been consistent, performed excellently on each occassion even in defeat. Guy with limited tools making best of what he's got..
Great?. That's a word that should be kept for the real greats like Robinson, Leonard, Hagler and co. But Carl is one of our Greats (British) in the modern era if we want to use that tag.
