I agree with him. It can actually be more challenging and require more skill to make people miss when in close than when fighting from the midrange or outside.

Duran, Basilio, Marciano, Tyson, Frazier, Chavez, and the vast majority of agressive fighters that had success in close were very good at being difficult to tag hard and clean when close, and were very good "boxers" in that regard, even if they really didn't have the style of what is normally perceived as a "boxer."
