Default Fat loss questions

Due to shoulder problems, I can't really do heavy pushing exercises for a while, so I decided instead of focusing on strength and being big, I would try and lose the stubborn fat around my mid section.

I have read loads of advice, a lot of it contradictory. But I was wondering if working out early in the morning, doing weights and circuit training, before breakfast, will be a good way to help shift the fat?
