My top five:
1 - Burley
. By a mile. At his peak i bet he could beat almost any champion between light-welter and super-middle to secure himself a title.
2 - Sam Langford
....ok, I may have been exaggerating when I said "by a mile". I am really getting into this guy, what a great fighter.
3 - Harry Wills
. I have a real soft spot for this guy. I feel bad for him. He may not be "better" p4p than many other denied champs but he's one of the ones I hurt for the most. He deserved a shot.
4 - Lloyd Marshall
. The ultimate business fighter? Maybe, but I bet his raw talent would be enough to put any super-middle/light-heavy there's ever been to the test.
5 - I'd like to say Jack Chase, but probably Holman Williams
was the better fighter. That would be my guess anyway. So Holman Williams.
for me too Lloyd Marshall is boss!
and a British five...
