Do you actually know what the conjugate system is? My point is the conjugate system, rotating and varying lifts/grips/chains/bands/bars etc, max effort days, dynamic days, repitition days etc etc is extremely effective. Steroids would make it even more effective. But there's no need to bring steroids into this at all as it has no bearing on whether the system actually works.
