On most instances when big faves drops like that is always favoriable to bet on the faves. Before Odds makers produces a line they've already did their homework so if the public hype shifts the line against the faves then take advantage of it. I would be shocked if i see a line that opened at -1500 and drops to -310 and would pounce on that if such a thing occurred.
However there are many cases where a -300 drops to close to even money and thats a score.
