Also, there is such a thing as too much protein, to the point of having negative effects. Everything in moderation.
As suggested above, a simple google search can help you with your needs, and estimate what you currently get in regular food. Then figure out if (or how much) additional protein is necessary.
Too much protein, and you risk hurting your health or your wallet.
