This is a myth (sort of). Most women (and plenty of men too) think the toned, slender look on a woman is mostly helped by going on the treadmill/exercise bike. It's not. Women do not build the same volume of muscle as men do, and when women lift weights it results in muscle replacing fat leading to a toned look/feel and an absolutely immaculate figure.
In short, women are wrongly led to believe that lifting weights will make them look "butch", when in reality it will give them the exact sort of body that most women want.
