Running is impact and you contract a lot of muscle, a lot of the same muscles used in boxing. If you get fit running there will be a lot of transfer to boxing. Not with swimming. Swimming is good for recovery and aiding breathing but it's not going to get you in any sort of shape for boxing. Cycling would be far better than swimming as well, not as good as running as you're not on your feet and you don't contract as much muscle (so VO2 will be lower) but still far more beneficial then swimming.
