Your statement is very broad. I agree that what you eat in particular isn't very important, but just saying eat whatever a lot is just a lazy way of going about things.
You could call it lazy, I call it focusing on what's important for a 17 year old boy who's working out but isn't building muscle like he wants to.. eating too much is seldom a problem at that age if you're physically active.
