Genuinely thought Frampton was having his way with him. Obviously scoring is subjective but the only round I gave to Martinez was 2nd. Don't get me wrong, Kiko was competitive, simply because of the way he fights (come forward, bullish, hard head, throwing non stop punches) but in general Frampton controlled him and looked through my eyes like he was grinding him down (which he was). I also noticed that Frampton got Kiko's attention early with his power.
Thought Halling and Watt were terrible tbh. Both were overly critical of Frampton throughout and seemed to react every time Kiko came forward regardless of whether he was landing or not. The fact Watt had Kiko coming right back into the fight on his card shortly before he got knocked out says it all IMO. The knock out was a product of the previous rounds work, Frampton ground him down.
In terms of going forward I would like to see Carl in with someone that keeps him at range. He is obviously short and thick at the weight and Martinez was made for him- he is pretty much better at everything.
That's my take anyway. But I was becoming increasingly frustrated with the commentators complete misreading of the fight. Not for the fight time either.....
