I think it is just a case of British fighters being unknown.

In Hattons last bout the pundits obviously knew little or nothing about Hatton. Spouting rubbish like "Hatton needs to box on the outside" or proclaiming Castillo as the better body puncher just before he got dropped.

It was not disrespect it was lack of knowledge, the punters get their info from the pundits, if they gave not done their homework the punter is lead up the garden path.
