I think many of your fellow Americans would have something to say about that mate, seeing as British culture (especially music and other media) sells abroad better than any other country. It sells especially well in America. Think of the different British invasions from the 60's to Heavey Metal to Punk to Madchester/Northern Soul/Acid House etc etc (please don't give me the history of Chicago and Detroit House music now, I do know
). I guess if you yourself aren't into that scene then you won't know much about it but many many Americans love our stuff.
