That is exactly how most people on here compile their lists, they do not count losses as a negative

and the best win for a boxer is the best he could have achieved, so Marciano, Mayweather Jnr and Calzaghe are going to get marked down as they were probably better in every case than their best win and able to go another 1 or even 2 gears higher in an ATG sense, but posters on here will pin them down to their best win which is implying that they could not have performed one iota better ?, that is not true, losses should count as a negative.
